Emotions- can make you achieve, emotions can make you loose.
It depends on the fact- how intelligently you use them?
Here are some of the ways which i felt can be used at times of emotional setbacks.
How to handle emotional setbacks at work place?
1. Wait for a minute and Ask yourself-
Was it for me?
Simple but important, figure out the scolding or statements given by seniors were for you or..?
If they haven't said it directly, show pro activeness and have communication.
2. What difference it will make?
Suppose some said in genuine things also, do you really think- it is worthwhile to say something in return?
If things do not make difference in your professional life and image then adopt--LET GO approach.
3. Do not react immediately
Its important to not to react immediately, at least on any incidence happened with your senior.
For incidences with juniors also, do not get tempered and start shouting.
4. What are your goals or priorities?
Politics by colleagues, sometimes inadequate performance evaluation by seniors and organisational issues.
Irrespective of all these, open your diary or mind-think about your goals for your carrier and what is good for organisation? You will find that those issues are immaterial.
5. Physical and mental relaxation
Close your eyes, take 5-10 deep breathes, sit comfortably, think about the positive incidences and achievements.
6. Share things with some one
If things are going out of the way, share things with some one, who understands you. Keep in mind- it will be good, if they are not your office colleagues.
